Steve Jobs Wants Apple to be Green

070508_apple.gifGreenpeace, an environmental group, has been eyeing Apple for a long time claiming the company is rolling out products that are not eco-friendly. A stance that has to be taken very seriously today in the wake of serious global warming that threaten the very esistence of all living species on the planet. The group has ranked Apple last on the list of companies that are not taking into account standards that the environment needs. However, Apple is not happy not doing its bit to save the environment. The company’s CEO Steve Jobs has posted an open letter on the company web site stating their plans to remove toxic chemicals from its products. Jobs wrote, “Apple is ahead of, or will soon be ahead of, most of its competitors in these areas.” He said the company would start by removing mercury in its displays. Image source: news.com.com
