Siemens Creates ‘Siemens Sustainability Award’ in Partnership with the Business Civic Leadership Center & U.S. Chamber of Commerce

071120_siemens_stairs.jpgSiemens, a provider of electrical engineering and electronic solutions, in partnership with the Business Civic Leadership Center (BCLC) and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, announced the creation of the first annual “Siemens Sustainability Award” at the BCLC Corporate Citizenship Awards celebration in Washington, D.C. The “Siemens Sustainability Award” recognizes organizations and communities on both a local and national level that undertake projects geared towards minimizing environmental risk. Next year, Siemens aims to expand the Award globally. “Siemens is a company vested in creating sustainable global infrastructure solutions for today and tomorrow,” said Jim Whaley, President of Siemens Foundation. “Creating the ‘Siemens Sustainability Award’ is a natural compliment to who Siemens is as a company. This award is just another example of the company’s commitment to CSR within the U.S.” The Award will be given to a community that has exhibited exceptional leadership in contributing to: improving everyday life, creating a sustainable environment for a community, solving a difficult problem and/or overcoming challenging circumstances within their community, and/or revitalizing a community in an innovative way. mage source: w1.siemens.com. > Continue.
