Ahead of international Human Rights Day tomorrow, the company has published a <a title=\"Opens in a new window: Talking the Human Rights Walk - English (pdf, 910Kb)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nestle.com\/asset-library\/documents\/library\/documents\/corporate_social_responsibility\/nestle-hria-white-paper.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">white paper (pdf, 910Kb)<\/a> using information from human rights impact assessments performed in collaboration with the Danish Institute for Human Rights (DIHR) in Angola, Colombia, Kazakhstan, Nigeria, Russia, Sri Lanka, and Uzbekistan. <a title=\"Opens in a new window: Talking the Human Rights Walk - English (pdf, 910Kb)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nestle.com\/asset-library\/documents\/library\/documents\/corporate_social_responsibility\/nestle-hria-white-paper.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">The paper (pdf, 910Kb)<\/a>, launched at the <a title=\"Opens in a new window: Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights website\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ohchr.org\/EN\/Issues\/Business\/Forum\/Pages\/ForumonBusinessandHumanRights.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Annual Forum on Business and Human Rights<\/a> in Geneva last week, focuses on actions Nestl\u00e9 has taken to improve its human rights performance at both country operations and corporate level. \u201cThis is a breakthrough in the field of human rights and business,\u201d said Allan Lerberg Jorgensen, Director for Human Rights and Business, Danish Institute for Human Rights. \u201cHuman rights impact assessments are an emerging science. No one knows quite what they are or should be,\u201d he continued. \u201cBy sharing the lessons we have learnt we hope to move practice forward. What we\u2019ve done is by no means perfect and there will be things we may have missed. \u201cWhereas corporate human rights impact assessments are still a rare best practice, publicly sharing the results takes it one step further.
