The Organic Market Report, to be published by the Soil Association, will show that annual spending on organically-produced food, cosmetics and clothes has reached \u00c2\u00a32 billion. The figures, up by 20 per cent on the previous year, suggest Britons are applying the same ethical standards to what they wear and apply to their skin, as they do to what they eat. (…) Marks & Spencer, Topshop, H&M and Tesco are among the high street chains that have launched organic clothing ranges, and celebrities such as the actors Sienna Miller and Scarlett Johansson have spoken out against labels associated with unethical practices. (…) The organic beauty industry is also migrating from specialist outlets to supermarket shelves. Last year Clarins, YSL Beaute and L’Oreal entered the market, either investing in or developing their own organic skincare lines. Yet organic products still account for only one per cent of the market.
